Are You Searching For Answers About Autism?
Do you sense that your child experiences the world differently, and you want to truly understand why?
Are you noticing differences in communication, social connection, routines, or sensory sensitivity — in your child, or in yourself?
Have you been on a long waitlist or bounced between providers, still without clear answers?
Are you an adult who has wondered, perhaps for years, whether you might be autistic?
Understanding is not a label to fear — it’s the doorway to the right support, self-compassion, and a life that fits.
Understanding Opens The Door To Support
Wondering about autism — for your child or for yourself — can stir up a lot of emotion. You may feel worried, relieved, overwhelmed, or all three at once. What most families and individuals want is simply clarity: a clear, compassionate understanding of how this brain works, and what kind of support would help.
A thorough autism evaluation can give you exactly that. Understanding is not a label to fear — it’s the doorway to the right support, self-compassion, and a life that fits.

A Reason for Hope
Teens & Adults
And because awareness and understanding have grown so much in recent years, more and more teenagers and adults are seeking evaluations and finally making sense of lifelong experiences.
Strengths & Support
Autism is not a disease to be cured — it’s a different way of experiencing and processing the world, one that comes with real strengths as well as real challenges.
The goal of an evaluation isn’t to “fix” anyone. It’s to understand, so that support, accommodations, and self-acceptance can follow.
Why A Careful Evaluation Matters
Autism often overlaps with other experiences — anxiety, ADHD, sensory differences, and more — which is why a rushed or one-size-fits-all assessment can miss the mark or lead to the wrong conclusions.
A careful, expert evaluation looks at the whole picture and the whole person, across their development and daily life.
That accuracy is what makes the difference between confusion and a genuinely useful path forward.
A Compassionate, Thorough Autism Evaluation
My approach to autism evaluation is unhurried and deeply respectful. We take real time to understand the full picture — developmental history, communication, social experiences, sensory sensitivities, routines, strengths, and any co-occurring concerns like anxiety or attention difficulties.
For children, I partner closely with parents; for teens and adults, I make sure you feel like a collaborator in understanding your own mind.
When an evaluation points to autism, I help you understand what that means in practical, hopeful terms — what supports, accommodations, and next steps can genuinely help.
When co-occurring concerns are part of the picture, I can address those too, drawing on my work in child psychiatry, adolescent psychiatry, and thoughtful medication management when conditions like anxiety are also present.
The goal is always clarity and support, never a label that leaves you with more questions than answers.
About Dr. Jared KiddoeI’m Dr. Jared Kiddoe, a double board-certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist and the founder of Authentic Wellness.
My boutique practice means I can offer the time a thorough evaluation truly requires, rather than rushing families through.
As a Black, Christian, Caribbean clinician, I also bring real cultural awareness to this work — important, because autism is too often missed or misunderstood in children and adults of color.
But You May Still Have Questions About An Autism Evaluation…
-
Autism can be evaluated across the lifespan. Earlier understanding helps children get support sooner, and many teens and adults find that an evaluation finally makes sense of a lifetime of experiences. It’s rarely too early or too late to seek clarity.
-
A thoughtful evaluation is about understanding and support, not limiting labels. For most families, a clear understanding opens doors — to accommodations, services, and a deeper compassion for how their child experiences the world.
-
You won’t be handed a result and sent on your way. I’ll walk you through what we found in plain language, talk through practical next steps and supports, and address any co-occurring concerns. You’ll leave with understanding and a path forward.
